IGM Gymnastics Girls' Artistic program is developed and supervised by Olympic gold medalist and F.I.G. President Nellie Kim.
Our professional coaches follow the USA Gymnastics curriculum to teach the fundamental gymnastics skills on the floor, trampoline, uneven bars, beam, and vault. This curriculum is based on the Junior Olympic program model which was developed with the belief that all athletes must have a solid foundation of specific skills in order to advance safely through the Levels (1-10, elite) within the program.
Coaches determine the appropriate level for a gymnast based on her performance of specific skills, technique level, and minimum age as mandaded by USAG. Coaches' main priority during evaluations is to determine which level challenges the gymnast in a safe way. Students advance to the next level based on regular testing of their ability. Competitive team levels advance after achieving a mobility score mandated by USAG and after their coaches' approval.
IGM's Artistic Team participates in semi-annual in-house shows, including the annual Winter Carnival. Our competitive team also competes throughout the year at various in-state and out-of-state invitational competitions as well as the Minnesota State & Regional Gymnastics competitions.
