We are excited to announce the launch of our new SCRIPS fundraising program! For those of you not yet familiar with SCRIPS, the program lets families earn money for their gymnast and the booster club just by making their regular household purchases. Instead of paying with cash or credit, they use prepaid gift cards from America’s favorite and most trusted retailers -- like local restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, department stores, and even hotels. With each gift card purchase, a percentage of the face value of the card goes directly to the booster club to offset our gymnasts' competition fees. What's the catch? Families simply have to plan a bit ahead by ordering their gift cards at the beginning of the week. By the end of the week, your gift cards will have arrived.
For instance, I just placed an order for two gift cards to use as wedding gifts at the end of the month -- 8% of that cost goes back to the booster club. I also know that I'll be buying school uniform clothing from Land's End, so I will purchase gift cards to use at their store and 16% of that purchase price goes back to the booster club! My teenage sons, nieces and nephews are regular I-tunes buyers, so I can order I-tunes gift cards, and send 9% back to the club. I'm earning money toward my daughter's upcoming competition expenses just by purchasing things I already need to buy.
Are you a regular Starbucks customer? Order a gift card, and 7% goes back to the club. Eat out a lot? Applebees, Outback Steakhouse, Panera, Papa John's, Quiznos are all part of the SCRIPS program, along with dozens of other local restaurants. Do you have sports equipment to buy? Dick's, Sport's Authority, Gander Mountain and Foot Locker are on the list. Like to shop? Everything from J.Crew to J.Jill, from Macy's to Marshalls, from Aeropostale to American Eagle is part of the SCRIPS program, along with dozens more.
How can you get started?
Step One: Simply click here: www.shopwithscrip.com. On the bottom left of the home page you will see "ENROLL NOW" -- click here to set up your family's account. You will need to fill in your name, address, etc., and create a user name and password. The enrollment code that you need is this: 3E2F4LFC33355. If setting up an account online is a nerve-wracking concept for you, feel free to print out the paper copy attached to this email. Fill out your order, and jump to step three below.
Step Two: Now you are ready to start shopping! Click on the "Order Scrip" tab at the top of the screen. When you have completed your order, print out the order confirmation page.
Step Three: Now that you have completed your order, write a check for the amount to IGM Booster Club, and drop off your order confirmation page and check at the front desk at IGM. The booster club has a file folder there for SCRIP orders. Orders placed by Monday evening will be available for pick-up by the end of the week (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday).
Step Four: We will have a box behind the desk at IGM labeled BOOSTER CLUB. Inside you will find your order filed in alphabetical order by last name.
