Collaborative Flexibility & Tumbling Classes for Dancers
IGM Gymnastics has recognized that the evolving dance industry is beginning to require various tumbling skills and further aspires for enhanced flexibility and strength from dancers. For these reasons, IGM has developed a program for dancers who desire additional training and practice to further develop flexibility, upper body/core strength, and tumbling technique. We are excited to offer this program for many reasons, a few of which are listed below:
Coaches focus on building strength, developing flexibility, as well as teaching fundamental tumbling skills; all of which are a necessity for dancers of all levels.
Our well-rounded coaches train both Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Their experience with Artistic brings tumbling and strength training knowledge. Additionally, they have acquired the expertise involving flexibility and ballet through many years of coaching Rhythmic Gymnastics.
IGM follows the Japanese version of floor ballet practice (similar to that of Pilates) which builds muscle strength, refines turnout and extension form, and promotes arm and leg coordination. IGM believes that its exclusive understanding and experience using this technique is a large advantage for dancers.
Dance studios are not built to safely train tumbling skills. IGM’s state-of-the art Gymnova equipment offers a perfect environment for safely learning tumbling skills. Further, IGM’s coaches are professionally trained to spot each student for optimum safety.
Some of the skills that we work on include front/backwalkover, cartwheel, elbow to chest cartwheel and 'scorpion'.
